Friday Wine Tasting 11.25.16

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We’ll still be around today, pouring from 3-7 pm. Come down and join us!

PAZO CILLEIRO ALBARINO
The Rias Baixas is one of the few areas in Spain that gets plentiful rainfall. They are best known for crisp, vibrant white wines made from Albarino. This wine offers an abundant bouquet of citrus, stone fruit and white flowers. Prevention of malolactic fermentation ensures that the focus remains on the fruit profile and a bracing, balanced acidity.

FATTORIA ROMIGNANO CHIANTI NATURALE
Italy is known for producing some of the most food friendly wines in the world. This is in part due to the high acidity in grapes such as Sangiovese, which has a palate cleansing effect. This ruby red wine has a nose of red fruit with a hint of dried tobacco. The palate has plentiful red cherry fruit with a hint of dried sweetness on the finish.

TOLAINO AL PASSO
Another Sangiovese based wine (seriously, they go so well with so many foods!) this one blended with Merlot for a little extra roundness and body. Bright cherry and berry aromas mingle with warm oak spice. The palate provide pure fruit notes and classic dusty Italian character.

DIAMANDES DE UCO MALBEC-CABERNET
The high altitude of the vineyards in Argentina creates a stressed growing condition for grapes, resulting in more intense, concentrated fruit character. The blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon shows this concentration with intense aromas of blackberry and spice. The palate is full and velvety with fine tannins, balanced acidity and an effortlessly elegant finish.
