Friday Wine Tasting 1.20.17

Come warm up with a great red wine tasting flight. We’ll be pouring from 3-7 this afternoon. Hope to see you there!

SHARECROPPER PINOT NOIR
With Owen Roe’s Sharecropper wines, they work in partnership with local farmers who provide grapes and then receive a share of the profits from the wine sales. This Pinot Noir has brilliant aromas of fresh strawberries and cherry pie. The palate is lush with subtle tannins and mouthwatering acidity. Rich flavors of dark berries and plums mingle with notes of dried herbs, cocoa and vanilla. Drink now or put away for several years and see the depth and richness evolve.

GRAZIANO ZINFANDEL
Mendocino, one of the northern-most wine growing regions in California, has long been known for producing powerful, complex Zinfandels. This vintage shows a deep, inky purple color and offers a rich nose of boysenberry, plum and cedar. The palate has generous mouth-feel and ripe flavors of plum, cherry cola and an earthiness that is unique to this region and its rusty red soils. Open this bottle with richly flavored meats and pungent cheeses.

MT VEEDER CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Napa Valley represents the epitome of New World Cabernet production and Mt Veeder does that reputation proud. This wine is intensely colored with a nose of blackberries, dried herds and warm spice. The palate is lush and soft with fine, velvety tannins and ripe flavors of blackberry pie, cassis, dark chocolate and spiced vanilla. I enjoyed this wine during the holidays with a roast tenderloin of beef and it was a stellar pairing!

AR GUENTOTA MALBEC
This 100% Malbec from one of Mendoza’s top regions is made of fruit from 100+ year old vines. This Old Vine fruit ensures a deep concentrated and complex wine. Bright ruby in tone with a nose of blueberry and black berry this is a powerhouse wine. The palate is rich and velvety with a lively acidity and fine tannins. The dark berry fruit continues on the palate with rich underlying notes of aged balsamic and sweet vanilla. Balanced and elegant, this wine has a long, lingering finish.
